The Lapis was issed originally in the year 2001 as a part of the 5 series of pens called Pelikans of their Time. The other Pelikans of their time were the Jade, Yellow Gold (solid 18K sleeve) , White Gold (heavy cap/barrel plate), and Toldeo.
This pen is new Stock complete -never opened or displayed. These are pens that in the Golden Age of Fountain Pens where small in your pocket and large in your hands, based on how the pen cap posted on the barrel. AS was done in the vintage original in 1935, in this reissue the barrel of the "1935" is made of blue celluloid, a traditional and expensive material used for the production of fountain pens during this era. The typical, marble effect is achieved by adding to te he blue amount of white color, which gives each pen an individual and unique look.
